Matthew Ryder (Director)
Matt is 35, he lives in Bacup with his wife Julie and their 2 children Alfie aged 7 and Annie aged 5. Matt co-founded TalkFirst with Julie and they share the common goal of making TalkFirst classes first choice for parents and babies in the UK and Ireland.

Matt has a clear role within TalkFirst, he is the Franchise Manager and is responsible for all tasks culminating in the smooth running of the company. Having spent most of his professional life in a commercial management role with a large engineering company he is well placed to develop TalkFirst. Matt has a professional and friendly approach, he is particularly keen on quality and scrutinises every area of the business to maximise effectiveness and improve standards.

Julie Ryder (Director)
Julie is Matt's wife, she became unexpectedly deaf in her twenties. Before having the children, Julie worked for Natwest bank and is ACIB qualified. The experience being a deaf mum has left her with a strong belief that communication between hearing parents and babies could be greatly enhanced by using signs with speech.

Julie's role at TalkFirst is to develop the product itself. She is full of ideas, enthusiasm and motivation. Julie is a good communicator and has a hands on approach to leading the business and products forward. Julie sees her deafness as a very positive aspect of her life and has used the experience to enrich her own life and inspire others.
